New character

One of the New main characters I’m working with, a fledgling. This is her at home, I imagine somewhere on Boston street, being tucked in by her mom, a cigarette-smoking (that’s as bad as it gets here) pigeon (the fledglings, like the real life village kids, hate cigarettes). Note one of Lily’s feathers in her side table. She finds that at the beginning of the story when Lily gets chased down Germantown Ave.

"I wasn’t alone in my knowledge. Nearly everyone in my neighborhood knew too much too soon… I cringe when people talk about the resiliency of children… This ability to exist in pieces is is what some adults call resilience. And I suppose in some way it’s a kind of resilience, a horrible resilience that makes adults believe children forget trauma.” Lynda Barry"

Dog sketches

These dogs seem more realistic.. The upper left one will have smaller eyes. Realizing how much eyes can change a personality (like in people). Going to use this when making the general village neighbors, differentiating between pigeons.
